I never took a home ec class and somehow managed to skip learning how to sew even though my mother owned her own interior decorating company. I did however sit and watch the employees stitch decorative little pillows, my favorite being the cactus shaped ones with dangling thread as the thorns. I don't know why, but those particular pillows fascinated me.

Anyhow, I thought I'd try and make some primitive dolls to sell and to keep...and so I did! I started with a cat as my first doll, probably because I paint tons of cats on canvas and couldn't help myself. haha! I think she came out pretty cute and just how I wanted, very primitive looking. Her name is Miss Miranda Cat and she's 16" tall. I hand-sewed her body and her dress. I'm still amazed I managed to cut the shapes of the fabric right, even when I couldn't find a pencil to draw it out.

I almost completely forgot about deviantart! Been pretty busy painting and selling funny little folk art cat paintings on ebay. So, I guess I'll get back to it!

god it's been forever since i put anything up. mostly due to lack of comments i suppose. blah blah.

7 months and one week along now in the pregancy and i found out i'm having a girl! hehe that should be fun. i think my hubby and i have decided on the name Anna Siobhán ... our son can say both names and they sound so cute so it helped seal the names in.

Well i'm 5 months pregnant now and getting so tired and blah. I haven't made anything new in a week and i'm lacking any new ideas. but hopefully this will pass soon
